F.A.Q

How long does it take to grow out a relaxer?
A relaxer is permanent. The average person’s hair grows approximately ¼ inch per month.  Whenever you are comfortable with the length determines the right time to wear your hair out.
If the length is something you cannot handle then we suggest you consider a weave or braid extension style until you reach your desired length.

How long after a relaxer should I wait to have my extensions done?
We require that you wait at least 3 weeks after any chemical service before we will provide any weave service.

How often should I shampoo my hair?
It depends on the type of hair.  Please contact the salon for further assistance.

What should I do if I need to cancel?
If you do have to cancel you appointment we do ask for a 24 hour notice. Please just contact the front desk.

How early do I need to arrive?
Please plan on arriving ten to fifteen minutes early for your service.

What if I'm unhappy with my hair?
Talk to your stylist. Loose Ends Salon is extremely confident in our team members' abilities. However, if there is a misunderstanding, your stylist will want to know! If you feel uncomfortable talking to your stylist, then you can speak directly with the salon manager.  The manager will be more than happy to discuss your concerns.

Does it really matter what products I use on my hair?
Yes, it is best to use products your designer recommends so you can reproduce the same look at home. Also, lower quality and priced products cause build-up on your hair resulting in heavy, unmanageable hair.

My hair is shedding? What should I do?
Most people have the misconception that their hair is shedding. Your hair sheds 50 to 100 strands every day. When your hair is not combed, natural or chemically altered, the only way for that hair to shed is when you shampoo, comb or brush. The large amount of hair that may scare you is normal.

Do:

Stay away from the heavy products. Greasy products may actually clog hair follicles and]cause other problems including scalp folliculitis and acne on the forehead and temples.

Keep hair moisturized.

Wearing hats can be damaging. Wear hats with natural fibers.

Use a satin or silk scarf and pillow. Cotton soaks up the oil in your hair, leaving it dull and dry.

Do Not:

Think that natural hair is very strong. It is very fragile. Think of each curl and wave as a breaking point.

Think that combing and styling natural hair is the same as when you had a relaxer.
